Forgive the Sting Ray

Tonight, Steve Irwin is dead. I used to watch him on television Funny little guy At 44, 10 years younger than me, almost. He'd pull aligator tails. And put his face next to venomous snakes. He died from a Sting Ray barb. The barb went into his chest, just under the ribcage, into his heart. He was being videotaped, at the time For a show he was taping, a documentary on dangerous sea creatures. He was snorkling and just above the thing when it flexed its tail, and up A Sting Ray tail has barbs on it, like a serated knife. It broke a blood vessel in Steve Irwin's heart. He stood up in the shallow water, pulled out the barb, like a knife, then he was out, gone. They got him back to the boat, did CPR. CPR? the worst thing you could do for a knife wound like that. I wasn't there. Now, blogs and pods all over the internet are saying the Sting Ray is evil. With all this hate mail, all this thought and emotion, it's got to worry the Sting Ray, enough to jump into a boat in the intercoastal waterway. Unusual behavior... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15321718/ You see this other guy left the barb in. He'd maybe seen enough CS-i and crime shows to figure that out. You get stabbed, you leave it in. Let the doctor's take it out. It's a no brainer. (Unless your on a television show, being taped, I guess, on a schedule, and asleep on the job) I like Sting Rays. I walk out in the ocean, see them swim fast to escape my feet, as if they don't want me to get stung, as if They know I can. They're "non aggresive" Irwin must've been 1 foot over the Sting Ray to get stung like that, maybe closer. I would have stung him too, that close. Ever seen a Sting Ray in the water? No. Know why? I consider myself lucky whenever I get to see one, flying alone the surface of the sand, trying to get away. And what about the naked 24 year old woman, driving naked in her Nissan? Drugged up in Staten Island. Did she try to get away from the man on the median strip? He never saw what hit him, lost his legs. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15335684/ It was fatal. Not because of the Sting Ray.
