Forgive the Sting Ray

Tonight, Steve Irwin is dead. I used to watch him on television Funny little guy At 44, 10 years younger than me, almost. He'd pull aligator tails. And put his face next to venomous snakes. He died from a Sting Ray barb. The barb went into his chest, just under the ribcage, into his heart. He was being videotaped, at the time For a show he was taping, a documentary on dangerous sea creatures. He was snorkling and just above the thing when it flexed its tail, and up A Sting Ray tail has barbs on it, like a serated knife. It broke a blood vessel in Steve Irwin's heart. He stood up in the shallow water, pulled out the barb, like a knife, then he was out, gone. They got him back to the boat, did CPR. CPR? the worst thing you could do for a knife wound like that. I wasn't there. Now, blogs and pods all over the internet are saying the Sting Ray is evil. With all this hate mail, all this thought and emotion, it's got to worry the Sting Ray, enough to jump into a boat in the intercoastal waterway. Unusual behavior... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15321718/ You see this other guy left the barb in. He'd maybe seen enough CS-i and crime shows to figure that out. You get stabbed, you leave it in. Let the doctor's take it out. It's a no brainer. (Unless your on a television show, being taped, I guess, on a schedule, and asleep on the job) I like Sting Rays. I walk out in the ocean, see them swim fast to escape my feet, as if they don't want me to get stung, as if They know I can. They're "non aggresive" Irwin must've been 1 foot over the Sting Ray to get stung like that, maybe closer. I would have stung him too, that close. Ever seen a Sting Ray in the water? No. Know why? I consider myself lucky whenever I get to see one, flying alone the surface of the sand, trying to get away. And what about the naked 24 year old woman, driving naked in her Nissan? Drugged up in Staten Island. Did she try to get away from the man on the median strip? He never saw what hit him, lost his legs. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15335684/ It was fatal. Not because of the Sting Ray.

Continuing the Conversation...

In the North American Native American Indian tradition, there is a saying, "continuing the conversation". When two friends depart, and then get together again and start talking as if they'd never left is to "continue the conversation." Many of you are friends. Can brand new Newsletter possibly be a way of "continuing the conversation?"Let me know!

"What's sad...."

....What's sad is that the books are now completed, with the generous permission of all who contributed their stories, some of the names are real and some have been changed. Each of the books make special mention of the clinic on Melrose and the "Back Room". (Of course the promise of a book was one way to keep my overhead low!) When you read the books, only you will know that the Back Room, from which the crafting, creating, and writing of the books radiated outward, no longer exists! (This is our secret, okay?) For more than 35 years, the acute care clinic on Melrose Avenue has been contributing well being and health to others. The Doctors, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, have now dispersed. Even the wonderful aromatherapy store, Aunt Vi’s Garden, is gone from 8576 Melrose Avenue. People have called, or visited to work with yours truly here in Florida, and say a void is there now, or that it’s like Katrina hit the place. Think of the privilege to have been there. You are the Heroes and Heroines! You made it work!

"What Next?"

"What next?" Always a good question! Always a good question. CraniOcean is steppin' out. CraniOcean is now creating an Email Newsletter, "The Blend"! Continuing the Conversation...

Article # 3--uncut (first newsletter) Although I have now been in Florida since April, 2005, I have some news which may come as a mild shock to many of you. For more than 35 years, the acute care clinic on Melrose Avenue has been contributing good health and healing to others. The Doctors, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, have now dispersed. Even the wonderful flower essence and aromatherapy store, Aunt Vi’s Garden, is gone from 8576 Melrose Avenue. People have called, or visited to work with yours truly here in Florida, and say a void is there now, or that it’s like Katrina hit the place. Think of the privilege to have been there. You are the Heroes and Heroines! You made it work!

In the North American Native American Indian tradition, there is a saying, "continuing the conversation". I learned about this back in prep school in Northeastern Connecticut from a buddy of mine who was close to the paths of the earth, its rivers, and its ways. When two friends depart, and then get together again, and start talking as if they'd never departed, with few awkard silences, this is to "continue the conversation." Have you ever experienced this? I see this newsletter as a way of continuing the conversation and hopefully, somewhat of the contribution. It will also begin to introduce the deeply inspiring and life changing, "The CraniOcean Code". I hope you will allow a space in your conscious-awareness to receive these words. There is so much more to talk about and to share. The CraniOcean Code is at the basis of conscious co -creation in these "interesting times".

And for those in LA, when I arrive L.A. in November 22, 2006, we can have a BREAKTHROUGH celebration at Elixir, just down the street from the now empty clinic on Melrose Avenue, and then walk over to place flowers or give an herbal tea toast in the spirit of all the work completed and the many Breakthroughs to follow now. Our party will meet on November 24, 2006, to celebrate our breaking through old patterns to welcome new life. Stand by for Updates.

Thank you for your time and for your share of consciousness here in the blend.

Touch

Article #2--uncut (first newsletter) Most of us have worked together in sessions, once or many times, on a relaxing massage table or the waters of the ocean. We know, on some level, it's been a great priviledge. No session ever began without silence, or without asking permission first into the blend. And no two sessions were ever alike. Asking permission to begin a session, to continue a session, and to end a session, is all if we are to touch what is. Sensitive Healthcare Practitioners have called CranioSacral the "CranioSacral Blessing", and that to receive it is to touch the sacred. I'm uncomfortable with the too easy use of the word, sacred. I myself call it, touching what is. When we are working in the ocean, for example, we are also touching what is. Touching What Is, is not easy to do. It requires courage and a capacity to question and learn and evolve. Society does not ordinarily encourage this! We are, after all, supposed to remain good consumers and do as we are told by our medical authorities. Think about it for awhile. I feel that this capacity to question our medical authorities is innate to each one of us but is very weak and must be developed. CraniOcean is a cousin of CranioSacral Therapy--which makes it even less well known :) Many of you have asked about the name, "CraniOcean". The name, CraniOcean, was inspired long before working with clients and dolphins in the Bahamas in Bio-Aquatic Research under the auspices of the Upledger Institute. CraniOcean by itself, is intuitive bodywork and massage in a blend with CranioSacral Therapy. It is performed on a relaxing massage table, or in a warm pool, or in the waters of the ocean itself. To receive a session is the feeling of giving the Central Nervous System a dreamy dip in a warm bath. The resonant effects of sessions last and expand along with the client's expansion, and any expansion experience is an enlightment experience. Q: What is the difference between a newsletter, a blog, and a book? A: I don't know, I'm still checking it out!

CranioSacral Therapy

Article #1--uncut (first newsletter) CranioSacral is a deeply gentle and calming hands on therapy which goes beyond the reach of traditional medicine...

Health is no longer just "nice". Good health is an act of revolution. We must fight to have and maintain the vast privilege of our health, inner and outer, work to inform ourselves and remain empowered in the medical system's Matrix. Here, in this simple newsletter, as in the books that I'm now writing, our point of departure will be a little known form of healing art, “Craniosacral Therapy”, developed by John E. Upledger, DO, OMM, now often considered a "last door" or "last hope" by many. This is a very good thing, but it doesn't "have" to be this way forever. Can it someday be offered as a "first door"?

As most of you know by now, CranioSacral, or, "Cranial", has been clinically proven to relieve and to treat an array of acute and chronic disorders such as:
  • Migraine Headaches
  • Chronic TMJ (Tempromandibular Joint Syndrome)
  • Persistent, or Wandering, Depression
  • Chronic Asthma
  • Learning Disorders (ADD/ADHD)
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Scoliosis and Chronic Lower Back Aches
  • Multiple Seizure Disorders
  • And more!

This will only be our point of departure. There is much more to uncover and to discover!

Hello People?

Can we have a vote? How often would you like to receive this newsletter? Please write a yes or no. (I don't yet know how to set up a "please vote" button!)
  • Once a month?
  • Once every two months?
  • Once a week?
  • Once every seven years?
  • Welcome to CraniOcean

Introductory Paragraph--uncut (first newsletter): Question: "What is CranioSacral Therapy?" Answer: "Find out for yourself?" We all know the statistics. Healthcare is sick and broken in this country. People are dying needlessly. Medical "Errors" the 7th leading cause of death. Add to this, the word, "healing" is not used in most of our medical schools or allowed in the texts our medical students study. Thank goodness for...YOU. This is for you, a mere sparkle of people, and anyone who wants to learn more about their health and healing, the health of others they love, and in the health of this beautiful blue water planet. It is a privilege to finally be able to create this online newsletter for you and most of you have been asking after this for years. Like the website, this simple newsletter, dedicated to the transformation of the being and the creating of positive change in our sphere of influence, is from the Heart. Could it possibly inspire and make a small contribution to one person we may never know or meet? Can it work? I hope you will join us and discover what is possible. Thank you for your interest!

    What's My Purpose?

Whoa. This whole blog. It's too much like work. Time to ask, What's my purpose here? This blog comes about after lots of suggestions to promote the books I've completed. Even if the book is published by a traditional publisher, the author still gets to promote it. I've made up a newsletter to send to clients. And incidentally, the books will be available. Well, who else will I interest in the books? Otherwise, why bother to publish them? So there could be an element of promotion in this blog. An element of promotion. Is it to serve or is it to be 'served'....to serve the vanity of it all? Then again, if no one knows of the books, the alternative is that they end up in my hard drive. This blog is based so far on the long version of the newsletter--the versions I didn't use so I could keep the newsletter short. And if it's to only promote books...that is "work"...it's not the fire of the Gods. I even have a sense of....of.... just to view the purpose
