CranioSacral Children
Forgive the primitive nature of this Video short. We were under extreme conditions and could not charge the Video Camera!) But here's the full story from the April 07, CraniOcean.Calm News:
As we sat with this, a need arose for us to work on the little children in the nearby jungle village of Portabello.
Our team was situated on a desolate beach some miles from Portobello. The tiny village of Portobello is famous for its Fortress which was held by the Spanish to deliver gold stolen from South America to Spain. The Fortress was attacked by Pirates!
Now, the village is revered in Panama for its chapel dedicated to the the Black Christ--the Christ portrayed with black skin. The children came to our open air huts on the shore in a large engine powered boat as the jungle was impassable.
First they danced for us, in a most curious fashion. Okay. As girls from 4 to 8 years old sang a rather mature song about how a husband had brutalized his wife, and had left the family to starve, the boys danced with wild costumes and Junkanoo hats and every now and then, one boy would fall and convulse on the ground, his legs and arms kicking. His fellows would gather round him with a thin, clear plastic tube attached to a strainer or old O2 mask. They would place the mask on the convulsing boy's face and blow through the tube to revive him. Soon our group leader, Chas Perry, jumped into the dance and fell on the ground and convulsed too. Chas is a large man with white hair and the little jungle boys were shocked. Then they tried to revive the struggling Chas with the tube and mask! We all realized they were asking for breath--to breathe. (Dr William Garner Sutherland long ago characterized the craniosacral system's response as The Breath of Life)
Soon after the wild dancing and convulsing ended, we invited the children and their Chaperones to come to the ocean. Some children played alone while others floated in the ocean, held gently by our team. Some children would be hesitant. Others would get it instantly and just drop their heads into our waiting hands. Our hands quickly identified a series of cranial base dysfunctions that would have made for serious trouble--including mood disorders--as the children would mature into adolescence. The ocean floated us in a blend with the jungle and sky. There was a sense of blessing and presence. No doubt some of our team will return....
There was alot of humidity in the jungles of Panama versus Video and Still camera! The CraniOcean.Calm News supports clients, friends, and a series of three new books published by CraniOcean Media, beginning with, TOUCH THE OCEAN: THE POWER OF THE COLLECTIVE EMOTIONS, by James Nemec LMT, CST-D

Continuing the Conversation...
"What's sad...."
"What Next?"
CranioSacral Therapy
Continuing the Conversation...
In the North American Native American Indian tradition, there is a saying, "continuing the conversation". I learned about this back in prep school in Northeastern Connecticut from a buddy of mine who was close to the paths of the earth, its rivers, and its ways. When two friends depart, and then get together again, and start talking as if they'd never departed, with few awkard silences, this is to "continue the conversation." Have you ever experienced this? I see this newsletter as a way of continuing the conversation and hopefully, somewhat of the contribution. It will also begin to introduce the deeply inspiring and life changing, "The CraniOcean Code". I hope you will allow a space in your conscious-awareness to receive these words. There is so much more to talk about and to share. The CraniOcean Code is at the basis of conscious co -creation in these "interesting times".
And for those in LA, when I arrive L.A. in November 22, 2006, we can have a BREAKTHROUGH celebration at Elixir, just down the street from the now empty clinic on Melrose Avenue, and then walk over to place flowers or give an herbal tea toast in the spirit of all the work completed and the many Breakthroughs to follow now. Our party will meet on November 24, 2006, to celebrate our breaking through old patterns to welcome new life. Stand by for Updates.
Thank you for your time and for your share of consciousness here in the blend.
Touch
CranioSacral Therapy
Health is no longer just "nice". Good health is an act of revolution. We must fight to have and maintain the vast privilege of our health, inner and outer, work to inform ourselves and remain empowered in the medical system's Matrix. Here, in this simple newsletter, as in the books that I'm now writing, our point of departure will be a little known form of healing art, “Craniosacral Therapy”, developed by John E. Upledger, DO, OMM, now often considered a "last door" or "last hope" by many. This is a very good thing, but it doesn't "have" to be this way forever. Can it someday be offered as a "first door"?
As most of you know by now, CranioSacral, or, "Cranial", has been clinically proven to relieve and to treat an array of acute and chronic disorders such as:
- Migraine Headaches
- Chronic TMJ (Tempromandibular Joint Syndrome)
- Persistent, or Wandering, Depression
- Chronic Asthma
- Learning Disorders (ADD/ADHD)
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Scoliosis and Chronic Lower Back Aches
- Multiple Seizure Disorders
- And more!
This will only be our point of departure. There is much more to uncover and to discover!
Hello People?
Can we have a vote? How often would you like to receive this newsletter? Please write a yes or no. (I don't yet know how to set up a "please vote" button!)
Welcome to CraniOcean

What's My Purpose?

The "H" Word, "Healing"
End of an Era
In closing, I have some news which may come as a
shock to many of you. For more than 35 years, the
West Health Connection on Melrose Avenue has been
contributing the feeling of well being and health to
others. Our acute care clinic was across
the street from the Bodhi Tree Bookstore, the same
bookstore that Shirley MacLaine happened into and
that inspired her book, Out on a Limb. I came on
the job there 12 years ago and it’s been my vast
privilege to be a part of the fun!
Over a
year ago,
it was time for me to depart L.A. and move to my new home
base. Then this past month, the West Health Connection
permanently closed its doors at the Melrose
location. The Doctors, Acupuncturists, Massage
Therapists, have dispersed. Even the wonderful
aromatherapy store,
Aunt Vi’s Garden, is gone from 8576 Melrose Avenue.
One or two people have called me, saying a void is
there now, or that it’s like Katrina. Think of the
privilege you had to have been there in that time.
You are the Heroes and Heroines! You made it work!
When we arrive in L.A. in November,
06, there may be a Mixer held at Elixir and then a SHORT
pilgrimage made with flowers--one block over--to
give an herbal
tea toast!
The books are now
completed, with the generous permission of all who
contributed their stories, some of the names are
real and some have been changed. Each of the
books made special mention of the West
Health Connection—of course the promise of a book
was one way
to keep my overhead low! But now, it’s time to leave
the nest and grow up, best we can! Together, we’ll
discover what shape this blog will take from
here, and if it can possibly, possibly make a very small
contribution.
NEXT NEWSLETTER: "What Are
Good Manners?"
Spread the News
These books were written over a span of years, first, out of a sense of duty, since my background is that of a poet and playwright. Now they are written, the alternative is for them to remain in the hard drive of my computer. They don't "have" to be published. And it's not my style to be in touch with others after they've come to visit--I don't chase people down, as you know. In my defense, as I described it to a client, publishing the books is now in front of me to do, and about as important to me as filling up a vehicle when it needs gasoline. At the same time, Traditional Medical Doctors say these books are "important", and so these few books could act as nutrient for the further and deeper expansion for others we may never know or meet in our lifetimes. And it could be they are seeds and seeds need soil. Please be patient. I've never actually published a book before! (Or written an Email Newsletter!)
I'm sure that nurturing a newsletter now goes with the saying, a journey of a hundred miles begins with the first step. If you would be so kind, please forward the good news of the forthcoming books on to anyone we may know. Or to anyone you feel this might be of benefit. I don't have everybody's email addresses. (This is not General Motors or Exxon Mobil or Random House!) Thank you.
We all know, on some level, that what's wonderful about good Health is that it unites us all! It transcends all boundaries and borders! No matter the nation, religion, class or creed. Our natural state of being is of Harmony and Health. How can we know this to be true? Simply because we can recognize good health when we have it! And what is it just to feel good again? Do we even remember?
Benefits of CranioSacral Therapy
known form of healing art, “Craniosacral Therapy”,
now often considered a "last
door" or "last hope" by
many. It has been called the "CranioSacral Blessing" by
caring Healthcare Providers and Practitioners. To receive
a session is like a dreamy dip in
warm ocean waters. As most of you know by now,
CranioSacral, or,
"Cranial", has
been clinically proven to relieve and to treat an
array of acute
and chronic disorders such as:
- Migraine Headaches
- Chronic TMJ (Tempromandibular Joint Syndrome)
- Persistent, or Wandering, Depression
- Chronic Asthma
- Learning Disorders (ADD/ADHD)
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Scoliosis
- Sciatica and Chronic Back Aches
- Multiple Seizure Disorders
- And more!
Interesting Times
Once upon a time, no one knew about CranioSacral Therapy. It appears the few books I've now written track some of the early history of CranioSacral Therapy and its development. You are each part of this history. Although this healing art is constantly expanding and redefining itself with each new person, it works. Like each of the books, I see this simple newsletter as a tool for contemplation. The difference is, books are like friends to hold with both hands.
One or two people have been calling and emailing to find out where I am...well...I’m right here.
This is for you, a select group of people who have may have expressed sincere interest in your own health and healing, in the health of others, and in the health of this beautiful blue water planet. It all goes together somehow, doesn't it? Hopefully, this will grow into a worthwhile contribution. We’ve all done a lot of hard work, and as we sit patiently for the arrival of the books, one after another, and all that implies, lets feel free to be in touch with ourselves and also with others and of course our beautiful world. And I'll be open to questions here, for now. So let's have some fun and see if this new experiment can work! If any part of this blog serves to give you a smile on your way today, it's job will be done.
Interesting times.
(There is nothing that is not on purpose, the question is, what purpose will you choose for today?)
